A small boat pulling away from Murrin Roost, a harbour town of slate roofs and stone walls, with the chart strip along the foot of the picture

Reelin

A cozy idle fishing voyage. You keep a small working boat and a chart that learns as you go. The sea does the rest, even while you're away.

How the sea works

You make the decisions. The boat does the fishing.

Open the ledger and choose what the crew fishes for. Point them at a ground you've discovered, or let her drift and give the boat back to its own course. That is the whole of what you do at the helm, and it is enough.

The sea keeps going when the page is closed. Come back tomorrow and the log will tell you what came up, in the same plain sentences it uses while you watch. Offline never pays less than sitting there.

Skill opens the water. Fishing levels carry you to new grounds; coins only buy the gear to fish them with. Every fish you land goes into the record, and the record keeps the best.

At Murrin Roost, made fast.
A minnow, 54 g.
Level 1, 63 more to 2. 8 coins. L opens the ledger: choose what to fish for.

Over shallow water, drifting south-west.
A sardine, 132 g.
Level 5, 15 more to 6. 216 coins.
Land bears south-east, 29 minutes off.

Where it's going: seasons that reset coins, gear and charts but never your records, and letters from the shore that only arrive after something you actually did. The old fisher's fate stays unresolved on purpose.

What's down there

An early build

  • This is the shell and the sea. You can sail, choose targets and grounds, and watch the log fill. The catch itself, the reel and the reveal, is still being drawn in.
  • Desktop browser, keyboard and mouse. The picture is 960 by 540 pixels doubled; a window smaller than that shows a notice instead of the sea.
  • Saves live in your browser only. There is a save recovery sheet under the menu if one ever goes wrong.
  • Keys: Esc menu · L ledger · S sound · T plain-type page for screen readers.

No pay-to-win, no ads, no subscriptions. Nothing that touches progression will ever be for sale.

Open water

The boat is at the quay. The chart is blank past the point.
